Kagadi district COVID-19taskforce has today donated food relief to 148 Private teachers in Kagadi town council 148 Private teachers both Primary and secondary.
The donation of food relief including Cassava Matooke and Ovacados came from Rugarama Farmers Association of Mpefu Sub County who donated the relief to district COVID-19taskforce to be distributed to the needy.
While handing over food relief to teachers, the RDC Lillian Ruteraho who is chairperson Kagadi district COVID-19taskforce said they decided to distribute the food to private teachers since they are no longer working.
Ruteraho also said they are planning to divert the 20M brought back by Members of Parliament to the Kagadi district COVID 19 task force to help them in purchasing relief food for other remained Private teachers in the district.
The Kagadi district inspector of schools Julius Alinda appreciated the food relief donation to the teachers that sights one way to recognise their great work done in the country.
Alinda further asked other good Samaritans to also support teachers who participate on KKC Radio broadcasting lessons for both primary and secondary learners during the lockdown since they do it without pay.
Speaking to our reporter after receiving relief food, Private Teachers appreciated the donation and asked for more.
They also asked the government to consider paying them if possible for them to survive.
