Kagadi RDC Office Assures Support for Mabaale Town Council’s Land Lease Deal

The office of the Kagadi District Resident Commissioner has pledged to assist Mabaale Town Council in securing a 99-year land lease from Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.

This will enable the establishment of permanent government infrastructure at the town council headquarters.

 The assurance was given by Deputy RDC Benjamin Tumusiime during the commissioning of a renovated administration block worth UGX 50 million.

Principal Town Clerk Asiimwe Vincent requested assistance from the office of the President to expedite the land lease deal, emphasizing the need for permanent structures to spur growth and development in Mabaale town.

Asiimwe highlighted the value for money in the renovation project, with UGX 40 million spent on works and labor and UGX 10 million on office equipment.

Vice LC3 Chairperson Gertrude Kabahekura thanked the Principal Town Clerk and technical team for the initiative, which will enhance service delivery and beautify the town.

 She also commended the central government for the UGX 50 million disbursement towards the town council’s infrastructural development.

Benjamin Tumusiime assured the town council of the President’s office support, citing the good relations between the NRM government and Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.

He commended the town council leadership for reflecting value for money in the renovation project.

Vice LC5 Chairman Vincent Semuga praised the technical leadership for utilizing funds effectively, unlike some new sub-counties that misused startup capital.

He emphasized the importance of inviting the public to such events for accountability purposes.
