Kagadi district Local Gov’t receives IFMS Machine to easy Workers Payments

Kagadi district Local government has received the integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) Machine to improve on the complications in Maintenance and salary payments of civil servants.

The machine was launched today Morning by the Kagadi district internal security officer (DISO) Kazoora Tumuhairwe on behalf of the Kagadi Resident district commissioner (RDC) Lillian Ruteraho.

IFMS is a machine implemented in a phased manner to ensure success and to provide gov’t of Uganda (GOU) with a process of effectively and efficiently managing the transition from the current state to the future desired state.

Kazoora says, the Machine will help the accounting officers, Auditors and the CAO to produce accurate reports due to its accuracy.

Gad Twesigye the commissioner for district inspections ministry of Local government says the computerized financial system will ensure Transparency, proper accountability, standard reports, elimination of corruption acts among others.

He explained that the first phase of the IFMS installation started in 2006 country wide and has so far covered 142 districts including Municipalities.

Gad adds that they are in the second phase of the installation that is expected to cover 14 districts including Municipalities and remain with 33 to complete the cycle.

The Kagadi district chief administrative officer (CAO) Matthias Ndifuna says he is optimistic that the initiative will ensure proper handling of their daily activities.
