The government of Uganda through the ministry of agriculture, animal industry and fisheries has introduced a new project called agriculture cluster development project aimed at supporting farmers to access agriculture inputs.
This was revealed last evening by the agriculture officer Kyenzige sub county, Charles Tumuhe while speaking to our reporter at his office.
Tumuhe said in this project Kagadi district is clustered with Kibaale, Kakumiro, Mubende, Kasanda, Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa where organized farmers will be supported by the government to grow Maize, Beans and coffee effective this season.
He said farmers will be given chance to make choices on want to purchase like seedlings, milling machines, irrigation pumps among others and the government supports them.
Tumuhe said in Kyenzige Sub County the registration of organized groups of farmers began towards implementing the program and called upon other sub county agricultural officers to do same before the season exceeds.
