As a way of giving back to the community, UPDF soldiers together with Police have today conducted general cleaning in Kagadi Town streets in preparation for tomorrow’s Tarehe Sita celebrations.
The exercise was led by the Deputy commander Lieutenant Muwonge Victor of 7th battalion.
However the exercise started late due to heavy rains that poured in Kagadi town council today morning.
It is remembered that the country wide terehe sita celebrations will be held tomorrow, 6th, 2020, at Butalangu Grounds – Nakaseke District.
The celebrations will be held under the theme “Consolidating the UPDF strategic partnership with the people to guard gains of liberation.”
Lieutenant Muwonge Victor says the aim of the exercise was to identify themselves and give back to the community.
He asked the public to champion for peace in the country by emulating the foundation of UPDF discipline and patience.
The Kagadi RDC Lillian Ruteraho cautioned the public against poor sanitation and hygiene to avoid killer diseases like cholera, water born diseases among others.
The District LCV chairperson Byaruhanga Stephen Nfashingabo asked people to welcome and implement the policy recently passed by Parliament of Proper sanitation and hygiene all else be charged with a fine worth 2Million shs.
However, the mayor Kagadi Town Council Businge Geoffrey cherished the team for the good work done today in Kagadi town council.
