Kibaale district local government through the production department has directed the Agricultural extension officers for Nyamarwa and Bubango Sub counties respectively to compile reports and relevant information on the villages that were hit by hailstorm that left residents in severe losses.
At the end of last week and over last weekend hailstorm hit various villages in these Sub Counties destroying garden crops, houses among other property triggering residents to call for the district intervention to their rescue.
Mike Lumu Alfred, the senior Agriculture officer Kibaale today visited some of the affected areas to make an assessment where he made the directive to the extension officers in a bid to commence efforts to lobby for relief aid from the Prime Minister’s office.
Affected residents at Mulika trading center led by the area LC1 chairperson, Gabriel Baguma say that without aid from government, they risk being hit by severe famine but they are optimistic the district intervention will yield good results.
