Simon Peter, the Operations Commander at Kagadi Central police station is in trouble for alleged murder of a resident.
It is alleged that while conducting patrol on May 9th, 2020, at Kyomukama trading center in Kagadi town Council around 7:30pm, the OC and his team battered Yusuf Mpoza aged 45 into coma for unknown reasons.
He was rushed to St Ambrose Health Center IV in Kagadi town from where he was later referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital.
The deceased’s brother, Ambrose Mbiire,
says the officers who were driving on a double cabin vehicle registration

colleagues and punched him into coma without explanation.
He claims that after assaulting Mpoza, the officers drove back to Kagadi Central police station leaving his brother lying in a pool of blood.
The pronouncement of Mpoza has been confirmed today by DPC Kagadi ASP Stephen Kamar while in an interview with journalists asserting the arrangements to bring the body of the late is under way.
ASP Stephen Kamar however, dismissed the Allegations of brutality by his security team saying they are still a waiting for the report from the doctors to tell the cause of the death.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, says a general inquire file has been opened against the commander and his junior officers who were under his command on the fateful day.
