A man in his mid-40s has died in Kihumuro village, Mugarama Sub County, Kibaale district as a result of excessive consumption of alcohol.
The deceased is Andrea Kahwa, a resident of the same
area who breathed his last yesterday morning.
Abesiga Ndiraba, the village LC1 chairperson says Kahwa died in his house where
8 jerry cans of waragi a locally browed alcohol were also kept.
Ndiraba says Kahwa became unconscious last night after reportedly drinking excessive alcohol noting that by the time the first phase of the lockdown was imposed, he had borrowed over 10 jerry cans of waragi.
He says that the deceased separated with his wife over 5 years ago but he has
been staying with three of his children.
Police has started investigating the matter.
