The body of a sixteen year-old girl has been recovered in Kibaale town council Kibaale district.
The Kibaale district police, Tumusiime Esther Adeke has identified the deceased as Bridget Wamaani, a daughter to John Kumalirwaki of Busana cell in Kibaale town council.
The LC1 chairperson of Rukinda LC1 Robert Senyonyi got the information from father John Mary Kitone Kabyanga, the parish priest of Bujuni catholic parish on Monday morning.
John Kumalirwaki told our reporter that his daughter went to Karuguza Market on Sunday but did not return home.
The DPC Kibaale Adeke confirmed to URN Monday afternoon that the police picked the body found dumped along Kibaale-Karuguuza road near Bujuni catholic parish in RuKikinda cell Kibaale town council.
She explains that the police took the body to Kibaale Health centre IV for postmortem.
Adeke however, says preliminary investigations indicate the girl was gang raped on Sunday night leading to her death.
Adeke has urged the general public to provide information to police to help with investigations into the gruesome murder.
