The Masindi Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Emmy Ngabirano has directed police to investigate circumstances under which a pregnant woman died at Miracle Church of God in Karangwe village, Kimengo Sub County.
Joy Katusabe, 35 years old, is said to have died in the church on Monday afternoon where she was rushed for prayers after developing complications during childbirth.
RDC Ngabirano told our reporter that he had directed the police to close the church since it is now a scene of crime to allow proper investigations into the death without any interference.
Ngabirano added that he has directed the police to arrest the leader of the church who has only been identified as Kezia so that she can help in investigating the matter.
The RDC advises the people of Masindi to go for prayers in recognized places of worship and to always seek medical attention from health facilities whenever they fall sick.
