Kagadi -Leaders of Kagadi district local government on Tuesday commissioned and handed over education infrastructures worth of over 179m shillings to parents.
Education infrastructures were built at St. Peter’s Nyakatoojo primary school in Mpeefu Sub County and Bukungwe primary school in Kagadi Sub County respectively.
Each school received a 2 classroom block and staff rooms valued at 79m shillings, each and a ventilated improved latrine valued at 10.8m shillings and 11m shillings respectively.
George Gulyetonda, the Kagadi district communications officer said the Education infrastructures were constructed in 2019-2020 financial year after receiving funds from the central government.
Gulyetonda said the handover ceremonies were scientifically presided over by the Kagadi resident district Commissioner Lillian Ruteraho and embraced by the LC5 chairperson Kagadi Byaruhanga Steven Mfashingabo, DEO Bartholomew Bukenya and the secretary for health and education John Alibankooha among others.
Gulyetonda says education is the face to human advancement and contributes to national development in every society.
He therefore asked parents to take advantage of the available structures to educate their children.
