Hoima district roads committee is investigating reports that money for rehabilitating roads was issued out but there is no work done on ground.
Pius Wakabi, the chairman for the committee explains that this has left most of the roads which has been planned for rehabilitation in sorry and impassable state.
According to Wakabi, the committee will investigate this to its logical conclusion and come out with a report for purposes of accountability and transparency in road works.
This was on Monday during a meeting by the roads committee attended held at the district headquarters Kasingo and attended by legislatures from Hoima district, Hoima municipality and district roads engineers, RDC Hoima Samuel Kisembo among others.
The committee resolved to conduct an impromptu monitoring to all roads claimed to have been rehabilitated to ascertain the truth.
Businge Harriet, the district woman Member of Parliament said it was prudent to conduct a fact finding mission to assess the work done and if there is value for money.
She however observed that most of the roads were affected by the previous rains.
The district Chief Administrative Officer however admitted the challenge but said will commence soon after rains stop.
