Kibaale Police are investigating circumstances under, which an 11-year-old boy was beheaded over the weekend.
The deceased has been identified as Michael Murungi, a resident of Kyakatwanga village in Nyamarwa Sub County.
His lifeless body was recovered from Nyabigango stream in Kyakatwanga village.
The deceased’s parent had left him at home on Saturday when he was killed.
His uncle, Paul Ssali, told Uganda Radio Network that they mounted a search with the help of neighbors to and recovered Murungi’s torso from the swamp.
Vincent Geddi, the Nyamarwa Sub county LC3 Chairperson regretted the incident and called on security officials to thoroughly investigate the matter.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson says security operatives have launched a manhunt for the suspects behind the brutal slaying of the minor.
