Mfashingabo promises to end corruption in the district as he seeks re-election

Kagadi-The LC5 Chairperson Kagadi Stephen Byaruhanga Mfashingabo has vowed to intensify efforts into the fight against corruption, saying that the vice is a moral, spiritual and material problem.

He made the revelation yesterday while meeting journalists at his Home in Nankulabye cell, Kagadi town council where he announced his intention to seek re-election as the LC5 chairperson for Kagadi district.

Mfashingabo says the contract of some district members of service commission will not be renewed due to the allegations that they extorted money from applicants during the recruitment exercises.

He says the alleged corrupt members of district service commission would have been dismissed long time ago but it required the district leadership to seek an opinion of the solicitor general to interpret the law for guidance.

Mfashingabo also blamed the Kagadi district councilor for putting the district into problems when court ruled in favor of Ahumuza Medard, the secretary for community-based services and security was censored for indiscipline.

Masindi high court ordered Kagadi district council to pay Ahumuza Medard Shs 100 Million for damages.

Mfashingabo says this loss would have not happened if the district councilors had listened to his advice.
